Glen and I had lunch at Arby's, where we redeemed our coupons for a free Roastburger with drink purchase. We had a nice lunch for about $5.
Target -- $3.83 for 4 packages of steak coupons on target website
Later, we stopped at Target. This is what I bought:
Beef chuck steak, $3.23
Beef chuck steak, $3.23
Beef chuck steak, stew meat, $3.28
Beef round steak, marked London broil, $1.97
subtotal, 11.97
less coupons, $8.00 (4 $2 off Sutton & Dodge steak or roast)
total $3.71 + .09 = $3.83, paid with Target gift card I got for returning merchandise
The cashier said she could not take the last $2 coupon because one of the pieces of meat was only $1.97. I asked her if she could reduce the coupon to $1.97. She said no. I asked her to take it off, and she did. After I paid, I asked her for the $1.97 steak and took it to customer service. I asked if I could use the coupon. The cashier there said yes. She rang it up, and asked a manager to be sure she was doing the right thing. The coupon took off $1.97. The manager gave a nod of approval. "That's great," she said. "Free food." I told her she could find the coupons on the Target website.
Last stop, CVS, for milk
CVS vitamin D, $2.99
1 gallon milk, $3.29
subtotal, $6.28, $6.41 with tax
paid with $5 ecb, $1.41 on gift card. got back $2.99 ecb (vitamin D)
I just went in to get the milk. I just had one $4 ecb and two $5 ecbs, and the price of milk has now dropped to $3.29. I quickly checked to see if they had the vitamin d, which is free after rebate, so I could use the $5 ecb. Now I have a $2.99 ecb, which I can use to get another gallon of milk. This is not a week for "earning" extra ecbs, as far as I can see.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever beleiveth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
