used $10.00 off $50 purchase coupon from the Washington Post Newspaper (expires Sunday)

paid $.84

received back 3 $.75 off your next order coupons, for purchasing Dole (one coupon for every four cans??)

Please don't think, "I could never do this." I figured this transaction out to the penny before I paid. It took some time, but it was well spent.

Strategy (coupon science):
I gathered coupons for items I could get free. I put these items in the buggy first. My free items totaled $31.30. Next, I gathered my almost free items, Dole, $9.60, and Ortega, $10.00. My goal was to get as many free items as I could, so I could use the $10 from the newspaper coupon to get something without a coupon. $31.30 + $9.60 + $10 = $51.90. But so far, out of the $10 off coupon, I have only "spent" $1.60 for the Dole, and $4.00 for the Ortega. Out of the $10, I still had $4.40 to "spend." So, I picked up the packages of ground beef, which we have been out of for a while, at $2.12 and $2.27.

Advertised Savings, $10, Manufacturer coupons, $27.86, store double/triples, $16.21
Total savings, $54.07, 100%:)
