Purchase 3 cans of Hunt's Tomato Sauce at $.99 per can
subtotal, $2.97
use the coupon in the weekly ad -- you can find a copy in the store-- for $.39 per can
(carry small scissors in your purse, so you can cut out the ad)
The ad will take off $.60 per can, or $1.80. $2.97 - $1.80 = $1.17
pay $1.17, plus tax
repeat this transaction 3 more times, for a total of 12 cans of tomato sauce
(you will need a new ad each time, or ask the cashier to scan)
pay $4.68 (4 x $1.17), plus tax
file for $5.00 rebate in the Walgreen's easysaver March rebate book
You may choose to receive back a check for $5.00, which you can deposit into your bank account, or you may receive an extra 10%, or $5.50, if you choose to receive your rebate in the form of a Walgreen's gift card. Either way, you will have earned money on this transaction when all is said and done.
By the way, one of your transactions can be for two cans instead of three, and you will still have enough to earn the rebate (11 x $.99.)
The Walgreen's coupon says limit 3 cans of tomato sauce. Most cashiers will usually let you purchase more than the printed limit, but if you purchase more than four in one transaction they will ring up at the shelf pirce of $.80, and then you will have to purchase more tomatoe sauce to qualify for the rebate.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever beleiveth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
